A man visited a monastery
And asked the monk to show him around
The monk showed him one student, praying
That one asks naught for himself,
The monk said. He is too arrogant.
A second student was seen, also praying.
That one asks naught for himself,
The monk said. He is too humble.
And yet a third student was seen,
Lost in blissful meditation.
Does she one pray for herself?
The man asks. The monk smiled,
That one asks naught for herself,
She knows no lack in herself.
She is enlightened.
