Enjoy your childhood, it will not last
Yet the child feared; grew up all too fast.

Enjoy teenage years, they won't come back
Yet the teen rebelled; all he saw was lack.

Enjoy all your energy, you'll tire in time
Yet the youth worried; fretting stole his prime.

Enjoy family life, till you have the gift
Yet the parent sighed; a burden hard to lift.

Enjoy this moment, it'll never come again
And the elder realized; and ended all his pain.

verse

prose and verse, giving wisdom
are as two brothers
directing people to their home;

the one says, go down the bridge
southwest from the oak, and walk
for fifty paces, behind the fence.
the other places three arrows
at the correct places.

problems

Problems are just a creation of your mind.
Watch as your problems enlarge as you feed them
with angry words, self-pity and cries of injustice.
Then observe them diminish as you withdraw these energies;
and put them into anything else, even other problems.

Problems? Excitement? Disappointment? Jubiliation?
They are all the same.
